Biography
Mr. Tunde Gbajumo is the current Deputy Chief of Party of Power Africa Nigeria Power Sector Program (PA-NPSP), a USAID funded project which is Power Africa’s signature initiative for Nigeria that supports comprehensive power sector reform. He is an experienced power sector reform professional with over 26 years career in IPP development and energy finance that has spanned across geographies including Nigeria, Ghana, Mauritania, Tanzania, Liberia, and the Republic of Benin.
Prior to his role with PA-NPSP, Mr. Gbajumo was the CEO and Board Member of Symbion Power, Commercial Director and Board Member of AES Nigeria Barge Limited, a subsidiary of AES Corporation USA, and was involved in overseeing the development of the 300MW AES power plant in Lagos which is acknowledged as the first Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Nigeria. In that role, he participated in the first non-government project finance deal in the Nigerian power sector. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales and a Bachelor’s degree (Economics) in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom.
