Biography

James New is an Industrial Development Officer within the Department of Energy of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). James specializes in developing and implementing industrial energy efficiency projects mostly employing the methodologies of Energy Management Systems (EnMS) and Industrial Energy Systems Optimization (ESO) as well as the application of the ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems Standard.

James has been with UNIDO for 18 years during which time he has been stationed in UNIDO’s Headquarters in Austria as well as in UNIDO’s Regional Offices in China and South Africa. While James has held a number of positions in during his field postings, he has remained tasked to UNIDO’s Energy and Climate Change Programmes directly managing a range of projects within the industrial and commercial sectors of these countries.

James has recently jointly developed an initial Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded EnMS/ESO based Industrial Energy Efficiency Project for Nigeria.
