Biography

Dr. Tosin Somorin is a Chancellor Fellow and Lecturer in Energy at the University of Strathclyde, UK. She holds a Ph.D. in Gas Turbine Engineering with a specialization in sustainable biofuels, along with degrees in Microbiology and Biotechnology. Dr. Somorin employs her applied sciences and engineering knowledge to take multidisciplinary approaches to her research in value recovery and sustainable clean energy development. She has contributed to high-value research projects in Africa and South America and holds a patent for a sanitary energy technology for on-site conversion of human waste to energy as part of a project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Her research is published in leading international peer-reviewed journals and disseminated through various outreach programs. She is the Co-Founder of RBridgeAfrica and is actively involved in research capacity building.
