Chibueze is an engineer and energy finance specialist with over a decade of experience spanning gas and power, energy services and banking in Nigeria, the US and UK. Presently, he is a Managing Consultant at Energy Market and Regulatory Consultants.
He has a deep understanding of the Nigerian power sector specializing in business strategy, financial modeling, financing and risk management. Chibueze continues to provide advisory services to private sector clients and is Project Coordinator for several of EMRC’s retainer and call-off contracts with distribution companies. Most recently he has led the provision of energy demand studies for three distribution companies in Nigeria and the design of practical strategies for minimizing Aggregate Technical, Commercial and Collection (ATCC) Losses.
Prior to joining EMRC, he managed First City Monument Bank’s upstream energy loan book in excess of US$350 million, comprising pprivatized power generation and distribution asset acquisition-financing projects.
Chibueze holds a Master of Science (with Distinction) in Energy Finance from the University of Dundee (Scotland), a Master of Engineering in Engineering Management from Cornell University (United States), and a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University (United States).
