Briana Olson is currently the Acting Political/Economic Chief at the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos. Her work focuses on reporting political and economic issues relevant to southern Nigeria. She arrived in Lagos in December 2020. Prior to this, Briana spent seven years working as a corporate lawyer on energy and infrastructure projects with a law firm in Southeast Asia. A Wisconsin native, Briana has a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University, a Master of Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
